It's Never 'No Comment' for Wordbank's Conquest Service

Wordbank's advertising adaptation service, Conquest, was put to the test last week by AMD Giradot which had a 48-hour deadline to localize a Private Eye-style advertisement for its client, LogoVAZ, into French and German. Boris Berezovsky, a founder of LogoVAZ, had just won his case against Forbes magazine in the High Court and AMD Giradot created an international press campaign to celebrate clearing his name. The localization of the ad, in the Private Eye cover style that will also be recognisable to readers of Le Canard Enchaîné in France and Titanic in Germany, demonstrated Wordbank's ability to convey the essence of the joke and use of puns across different languages and cultures, while maintaining the impact of the ad.
