Below is a selection of recent marcoms localization projects undertaken for our clients.
Connecting ADC KRONE to its European markets
ADC KRONE is a world leader in providing global network infrastructure products and services that enable the profitable delivery of high-speed Internet, data, video and voice services to consumers and businesses worldwide.
Wordbank was recently selected by the UK office to localize a wide range of marketing collateral into a range of European languages. The majority of the texts demand a good technical understanding of the new technologies being developed by ADC KRONE for product datasheets, press releases and presentations. Other materials such as brochures, posters and web copy also demand good creative copywriting skills so the projects often offer an interesting challenge for our translators.
Flash localization and voiceovers for HP training videos
We have localized nine HP videos about the latest printer and cartridge technologies that are being used by local HP marketing teams for internal and retail staff training. The videos were localized into 20 Western and Eastern European, Scandinavian and Baltic languages. In addition to the on-screen text which was localized in Flash, we recorded voiceovers for the majority of languages and created subtitles for Scandinavian and Baltic languages. The voiceovers and subtitles were synchronised with the video in our in-house publishing studio.
Getting Flash with IDG’s websites
Re-engineering Flash files for website banners can be a complex task particularly when you are working in languages such as Korean and Chinese but Wordbank’s publishing studio is now on its third quarterly update for International Data Group. IDG is the world's leading technology media, research and event company and its online network includes 400 websites in over 80 countries.
Zoom-Zoom - Mazda’s New Generation Website comes into focus
Mazda is in the process of relaunching its consumer websites featuring crisp, creative copy, plenty of interactivity and stunning fullscreen versions of road tests for the new Mazda models. The company is also migrating to a new Content Management System and Wordbank has been instrumental in ensuring that its workflow supports a streamlined localization process.
Wordbank is currently half way through localizing up to 30,000 words of XML for each of the 12 languages involved in this project, some of which have been recovered from the translation memories which we have been managing for Mazda over the past few years. Parker Pens – quality in many languages
Duofold, Sonnet, Frontier and the new Profile range are just four of long-standing client, Parker Pens’ diverse selection of pens that “help different individuals to express their progressiveness in different ways” across the world. Wordbank localizes a wide range of leaflets, brochures, booklets, warranties and product advertising into up to 11 languages including Arabic, Japanese, Chinese, Polish and Russian and works closely with the local countries to ensure that the text is totally appropriate for their markets.
Breathing easy with Respironics
Respironics is the leading worldwide provider of respiratory medical devices that help clinicians to diagnose and treat sleep disorders and cardiopulmonary diseases. Wordbank has been working with the company’s Paris office on the localization of a range of new product brochures for doctors into six European languages including Turkish and Swedish.
Helping XanGo go global
One of Wordbank’s new clients in the USA is the Utah-based company, XanGo, the fifth-largest network marketing company in 2005. Founded four years ago, XanGo sales continue to rise and it has independent distributors in 14 markets including Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Mexico and Canada.
XanGo has just one product: a premium mangosteen beverage called XanGo™ Juice - which is made from an exclusive purée of the whole mangosteen fruit, a tropical fruit with high levels of immune system-boosting antioxidants.

| The name was created from two words - Xanthones and Mangosteen – and is now patented as a nutraceutical beverage derived from the fruit of the Garcinia mangostana L. (or mangosteen) plant. The mangosteen has an impressive range of proven health benefits, including supporting microbiological balance, maintaining immune system health, promoting joint flexibility, and providing positive mental support. |
Wordbank has been localizing a wide range of marketing materials for XanGo including its website – www.xango.com - into US Spanish, Mexican Spanish, Traditional Chinese, Swedish and Canadian French. Additional languages are planned for later in the year as the company expands into the German, Nordic and Asian markets.
We have also been producing a series of video scripts, voiceovers and sub-titles for training materials for XanGo’s network of independent distributors together with a corporate booklets and policies and procedures documentation into eight European languages.
Perhaps our most unusual challenge to date for XanGo has been the translation of the lyrics of Robbie Williams’ song, Angels, into Japanese and Mexican Spanish for the grand opening in Mexico in March. XanGo’s President, Aaron Garrity, regaled a delighted audience with a live performance of the English version. Move over, Robbie!
